China’s ByteDance has unveiled its first smartphone. The Nut Pro 3 is being released under the Smartisan brand. In a deal revealed earlier this year, the struggling phone manufacturer transferred some of its patents and employees to the TikTok owner. A ByteDance spokeswoman told Reuters in July that “the product was a continuation of earlier Smartisan plans, aiming to satisfy the needs of the old Smartisan user base.”

The new phone lets users bring up Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, just by swiping up on the lock screen. The native camera app also carries TikTok’s distinctive special effects and filters. These can be applied to videos of any length, unlike TikTok videos, which can only last up to 60 seconds.

The Nut Pro 3 runs on the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, Qualcomm’s latest flagship. It has four rear cameras (including a 48MP sensor), an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a 4,000mAh battery. The phone is already on sale in China, starting at 2,899 yuan (US$412).
