Raheem Sterling joins Manchester City from Liverpool in £49 million record deal
Reds' boss Brendan Rodgers confirms transfer to rival club, but plays down reports of an acrimonious rift with the restless forward

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Premier League rivals Manchester City over the £49 million (HK$590 million) transfer of England forward Raheem Sterling, the BBC and other British media reported on Monday.
Reds' boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Sterling would go to a rival club and played down reports of an acrimonious rift over the restless player.
The club has agreed with another club a deal for him to be transferred. Subject to a medical that will go through
The £49 million fee would be a record-breaking figure for a transfer within the English Premier League.
Speaking in Bangkok where Liverpool have begun a preseason overseas tour, the manager confirmed Sterling would leave, but subject to passing medical tests.
He declined to confirm where the 20-year-old was going or how much for.
"The club has agreed with another club a deal for him to be transferred. Subject to a medical that will go through," Rodgers said.
"Contrary to probably the last week or so in terms of what was written, Raheem and I have always remained very strong in our relationship and have been right up until we left. So there's no issue there," he added.
