PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Spirit Of Peace could bob up at any moment after staying on for minor cheques in his past four starts over the Valley 1,200m, including a recent second from behind midfield to My Day My Way. He should map well and can go one better. Outgate will need luck from gate eight but had been threatening in each of his three 1,400m runs from his first six starts before finding plenty after leading 250m out to salute after a speed-tracking run in a rare Valley 1,200m start. Winning form is good form but will need a bit of luck from gate eight. Meowth returns to Class Three on the back of an all-the-favours win and three close seconds from five Valley 1,200m runs this term. He has lightweight claims. Young Arrow has been more disappointing than not in his five starts this term but was once second to Helene Supafeeling over the Sha Tin 1,200m and has since trialled well.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
LOVE TOGETHER (L052) when questioned rider stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to ride the horse with cover. He said after taking a position behind a runner in the early stages his mount raced keenly and was steadied away from that runner for some distance thereafter when it refused to settle in the middle stages. He added making the Home Turn his mount ran wide before finishing the race off reasonably well. Trainer confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as he was concerned the horse would race too keenly if ridden forward in the early stages. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 474.
YOUNG ARROW (J401) shifted in at the start, made contact with a runner and became unbalanced. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and raced keenly in the middle stages. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 393.
SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) after travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded - Race 473.
ACE CHAMPION (K379) jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded - Race 410.
LEAPING STAR (L189) had its right front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the vet and passed suitable to race - Race 465.
LUCKY TOGETHER (L079) had its right hind plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the vet and passed suitable to race. After improving to the outside of a runner near the 500M was then hampered when taken wider, and then making contact with another runner - Race 436.
