Race Six : (264) - LUKFOOK JEWELLERY HEIRLOOM FORTUNE COLLECTION HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 BALLISTIC WIN (J040) J McDonald Near the 1200 Metres after being crossed by MOTOMAN commenced to race keenly, shifted out and made contact with YUEN LONG ELITE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 THE HEIR (H459) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 YUEN LONG ELITE (J272) Z Purton Near the 1200 Metres was crowded between LUCKY GOLD and BALLISTIC WIN which shifted out.
Raced wide and without cover between the 900 Metres and approaching the 600 Metres where it was able to obtain a position behind BALLISTIC WIN when that runner shifted out.
Horse No 4 NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) B Thompson Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 MOTOMAN (J436) L Hewitson Near the 800 Metres was checked and blundered when it struck the heels of WISDOM STAR (see WISDOM STAR).
Horse No 7 AMAZING RUN (H401) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 SMILING COLLECTOR (G128) H Bentley After the 1200 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from BALLISTIC WIN.
SMILING COLLECTOR continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter.
Near the 900 Metres raced tight inside LUCKY GOLD.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) Y L Chung Slow to begin.
Approaching the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid YUEN LONG ELITE which shifted out.
A short distance later CALIFORNIA STAR then commenced to race keenly and got its head up and shifted out when being positioned close to LUCKY GOLD.
As a result, CALIFORNIA STAR was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 12 WISDOM STAR (J351) K Teetan Near the 800 Metres was taken wider by NEW FUTURE FOLKS when that runner was shifted to the outside of LAKESHORE HERO shortly after being crossed by that runner.
When WISDOM STAR then attempted to obtain a position in behind NEW FUTURE FOLKS, WISDOM STAR became positioned close to the heels of NEW FUTURE FOLKS and as a result was checked and lost ground.
The Stewards found the manner in which WISDOM STAR shifted in to obtain cover was the main reason for it having to be checked.
Horse No 13 CIRCUIT MAXIMUS (J347) A Pouchin Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and lost ground.
Horse No 14 SPEED SWORD (H397) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.

New Future Folks tracked the leader Lakeshore Hero on the fence, moved to the lead 400m out and proved too good for a first win. He relished the rise in trip after placing three times from four starts. The Heir found one too smart after saving ground in midfield from gate two with the claim well utilised. He should get away with a race shortly if he remains in the grade. Favourite Ballistic Win ran on steadily for third after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another honest effort carrying top weight. Well-backed Amazing Run dashed well for fourth ridden for luck at the rear from gate 13. He continues to finish in the mix in his past four starts after an opening win to start the campaign. Run Ran Run kept on reasonably well for fifth after a prominent run along the inside. It was his best performance from six local runs. Lakeshore Hero was feeling the pinch 200m out after leading from gate four. Yuen Long Elite ran on without threatening after getting posted wide with cover travelling four from the rear.
