Prince Alex just prevailed over a brave Forever Glorious for back-to-back wins after moving to the lead 150m out. Forever Glorious wouldn't go down without a fight after going for home on top upon straightening following a prominent run with cover. He's a very honest runner. Sure Joyful dashed late for third after turning the final bend three from the rear. He's run well to place in back-to-back runs carrying top weight. Favourite Jumbo Fortune ran on well for fourth after settling on the rail from just worse than midfield. He keeps racing well without winning for his new trainer this season. Sensationally backed Golden Darci ran on all right with two wider out for fifth after settling one off the rail behind midfield. He can bob up at any moment after finishing in the mix in each of his three runs. Chater Gold got going late down the outside to finish next best after a patient ride in second last from gate 12. Viva Chaleur ran on steadily to just miss a pay cheque after making his run four back on the fence. He couldn't back up a placing last start and may need to drop lower in the handicaps

Horse No 1 SURE JOYFUL (G125) C Keane Bumped on jumping.

Horse No 2 FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229) M Barzalona Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) W Buick Bumped on jumping.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 PRINCE ALEX (G307) J McDonald Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 SIXTH GENERATION (G120) H Doyle Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between LUCKY BANNER and CHATER GOLD, both of which shifted ground.

In this incident, SIXTH GENERATION blundered and lost ground.

Horse No 8 LUCKY BANNER (G354) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

C Y Ho was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the first turn (see GOLDEN DARCI).

After the event, C Y Ho stated that his mount raced keenly in the early stages when positioned outside the lead but settled entering the Back Straight.

He said from this point LUCKY BANNER did not travel well and gave ground in the Home Straight.

Horse No 9 CHARMING STEED (E494) Z Purton After the event, Z Purton could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 CHATER GOLD (J004) K Teetan Shifted in on jumping and was bumped shortly after the start.

Near the 50 Metres shifted in towards SURE JOYFUL and was steadied when SURE JOYFUL shifted out slightly.

Horse No 11 GOLDEN DARCI (H470) Y Kawada C Y Ho (LUCKY BANNER) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the first turn he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of FOREVER GLORIOUS, resulting in FOREVER GLORIOUS being taken in onto PRINCE ALEX, resulting in PRINCE ALEX being taken in across the running of GOLDEN DARCI which was checked.

C Y Ho was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Thursday, 26 December 2024 at Happy Valley.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.

Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when placed in restricted room between JUMBO FORTUNE and SURE JOYFUL which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 12 SUPER BABY (G364) R King After the event, R King reported that her mount was pressured in the early stages by LUCKY BANNER and gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
