Recap by phillip woo

Parents' Love went straight to the lead from gate eight and never looked back after skipping clear for a first win at his 11th start. He had put the writing on the wall with placings following a downgrade and return to the Valley 1,000m in two prior starts. Dan Attack ran on well for second after settling one off the rail in midfield. It was a good performance trying the Valley 1,000m for the first time and he is well rated. Ace Talent just missed out on second prize money after a prominent run one off the fence with cover from gate 11. He has now placed twice and failed with mucus on another this term. Specked late, Circuit Ten came from near last through the centre to take fourth without threatening the top three. It was an improved effort following a downgrade. Plentiful whacked on one-paced after a box-seat run. He is limited. Favourite Speedy Fortune just held his ground when asked for an effort after travelling on the rail in better than midfield. He couldn't back up a near win on his season reappearance earlier this month for his new trainer. E Glory was a non-factor after missing the kick.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (142) - CHEUNG SHUN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters

Horse No 1 OMAKASE (H416) K Teetan Crowded shortly after the start.

Making the Home Turn was eased to avoid GOODMANSHIP when that runner shifted out to improve.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 PARENTS' LOVE (H405) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 SPEEDY FORTUNE (H097) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 DAN ATTACK (H317) H Bowman After the 250 Metres lay in and away from ACE TALENT as that runner shifted in slightly and as a consequence DAN ATTACK was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DIAMOND SOARS.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 CIRCUIT TEN (G429) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between PLENTIFUL which was taken out by OMAKASE and DAN ATTACK which shifted in after being contacted on its hindquarters.

Approaching the 300 Metres was steadied when racing tight to the inside of OMAKASE which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 6 ACE TALENT (H046) E C W Wong When questioned, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that over the final 150 Metres when he commenced to ride ACE TALENT along, his mount lay out and as a result shifted out a number of horses.

Apprentice Wong agreed with the Stewards that in the circumstances he should have stopped riding and straightened his mount sooner than what he did.

He added that when he recommenced riding ACE TALENT out towards the finish of the event, he dropped his left rein.

Apprentice Wong was advised he should ensure that he has proper control of his rein, particularly in circumstances when he commences to use the whip.

Horse No 7 HERO WARRIOR (J006) Y L Chung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 8 E GLORY (H304) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of DAN ATTACK, resulting in DAN ATTACK shifting in and E GLORY having to be checked when crowded between CIRCUIT TEN and DAN ATTACK.

When commencing to finish the race off well was steadied and shifted to the outside of DIAMOND SOARS near the 50 Metres to continue into clear running.

Horse No 10 DOUBLE SHOW (G250) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the event, H Bentley reported that with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time, his mount was under pressure throughout that stage of the race and was disappointing in the Home Straight when it only responded fairly to his riding.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 PLENTIFUL (G400) L Ferraris Crowded shortly after the start.

Approaching the 300 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider L Ferraris having to stop riding and correct his mount.
