Recap by phillip woo

Post-time favourite Smart Fighter trailed the pacesetter, reclaimed the lead 300m out and just held off the late surge of Tactical Command for an overdue first win at his 15th start. Tactical Command finished strongly to make it close on the wire after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He's ready to win again. Telecom Dragon ran on nicely to finish a close third after a rails run from midfield. It was a good run on his seasonal reappearance. Punted late Golden Darci ran on nicely to just miss a placing after making his run four back on the fence. It was also a nice effort on his season debut. The Perfect Match came from last for fifth without threatening the top four. It was a positive showing. Sky Prophet only plodded after a prominent run along the inside. He never gets beaten far but has trouble raising his game to a higher level. Early favourite Gimme Five tamely faded after a one-out, one-back run. He was disappointing after filling the frame in his first two starts this term.

Horse No 5 VIGOR ELLEEGANT (J375) M L Yeung After the event, M L Yeung confirmed that from his wide barrier he was requested to take up a forward position and ride his mount in a similar manner when successful in a barrier trial on 5 October 2024.

Horse No 7 GOLDEN DARCI (H470) K Teetan A Badel (TACTICAL COMMAND) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of GOLDEN DARCI, resulting in GOLDEN DARCI having to be checked away from the heels of TACTICAL COMMAND.

A Badel was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 at Happy Valley.
