Raced wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.

After the event, H Bowman reported that his mount hung out making the turn in the middle stages and finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Colonel had plenty left in the tank after getting his own way in front from gate seven to make it back-to-back wins over the Valley 1,200m for his new trainer this term. He's in a rich vein of form and another win going forward won't surprise. Embraces rattled home late to finish a close second after making his run five back on the fence. He is a winner waiting to happen. Golden Luck had his chance after sitting on the leader's back on the fence but only plodded over the last 50m carrying five pounds more following a win. Favourite Shinkansen stayed on for fourth without threatening the top three after travelling in midfield on the fence. He can win at any moment after filling the frame in his three starts this term. Punted late, Champion Method came up one paced over the last 100m after sitting one off the fence in second. Joy Coming gradually faded when asked for an effort after a prominent run. He has failed to make an impact in three starts this term. Glory Cloud never landed a blow after getting left without cover three deep travelling behind midfield from gate 12. He had an excuse.
