Favourite Wunderbar tracked the leader, poked his head in front 200m and did just enough to get the better of Bottomuptogether in a close finish. Plunged late in betting, Bottomuptogether gave a cheeky sight after clearing to the lead 800m out from a wide draw. It was a terrific effort up in grade off a lightweight. Gorgeous Win was eating up the ground late for third without threatening the top two following a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. It was another good effort. Sing Dragon wove a run after a one-off trip from behind midfield to spice up the quartet. He has given a decent sight in both starts this season outside his comfort zone on dirt. Bundle Of Charm just held his ground after a prominent run on the fence. It was another honest performance. Lucky Encounter ran on without threatening after a wide trip towards the rear. He went OK first up following a nosebleed in April. Seasons Wit came from well back and widest out to finish next best. Son Pak Fu finished eased down after showing no interest out the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten : (102) - ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS AND TRIATHLON 1200M HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 SON PAK FU (G265) C L Chau From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the event, C L Chau reported that with the fast early pace SON PAK FU was under pressure throughout the event.

He said on today's "Good to Firm" surface, he had concerns with his mount's action and when not in a competitive position, he discontinued from riding it out in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of SON PAK FU, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SON PAK FU will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 3 ATULLIBIGEAL (G173) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 4 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) Y L Chung Near the 600 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from CALL ME GLORIOUS.

Had some difficulty obtaining clear running near the 200 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 LUCKY ENCOUNTER (H274) A Atzeni Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Horse No 6 WUNDERBAR (H411) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 CALL ME GLORIOUS (H410) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of CALL ME GLORIOUS was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, CALL ME GLORIOUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 9 WONDER KIT (G455) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 10 SEASONS WIT (H223) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded shortly after the start by SUPERB CAPITALIST which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 11 SING DRAGON (J141) L Ferraris Approaching the 350 Metres shifted in and away from SUPERB CAPITALIST and became awkwardly placed behind BUNDLE OF CHARM, resulting in SING DRAGON being held up until near the 300 Metres.

Horse No 12 BOTTOMUPTOGETHER (J316) M Chadwick When questioned, M Chadwick stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position but was not given any specific instructions to lead.

He said after his mount commenced well, he was obliged to make use of it in the early stages to cross runners to his inside.

He said passing the 1000 Metres he was obliged to continue forward to cross CALL ME GLORIOUS which resulted in him being slightly in advance of WUNDERBAR.

He said when Z Purton, the rider of WUNDERBAR, was positioned away from the rail and he was riding his mount with restraint, he elected to allow BOTTOMUPTOGETHER to continue to stride forward and cross to the lead.

He added although he was aware that this resulted in the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time, he felt, given the circumstances of the race, this was the best option for BOTTOMUPTOGETHER to obtain the best possible placing in the field as if he was to restrain his mount and race outside WUNDERBAR, this would have resulted in his mount racing keenly.

After considering his explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Chadwick were reasonable in the circumstances.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 VICTORY MOMENTS (H142) H Bentley Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Jumped a mark on the track near the 170 Metres.

Horse No WATCH BUDDY (H185) H Bentley Withdrawn on 12.10.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart abnormality) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter VICTORY MOMENTS.

Before being allowed to race again, WATCH BUDDY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
