Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (779) - TAN SHAN RIVER HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly and blundered shortly after the start, resulting in its rider M Chadwick becoming unbalanced.
Horse No 3 COPARTNER PRANCE (H408) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SEASONS WIT (H223) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 GUMMY GUMMY (H089) C L Chau After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the early stages but failed to respond in the Home Straight and he could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 SING DRAGON (J141) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan reported that from the outside barrier and with the expected fast early pace he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions and the reasons as to why such instructions were issued.
Horse No 9 DREAM WINNER (H308) C Y Ho Blundered shortly after the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Was noted to be making a loud respiratory noise after the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a roarer Horse No 10 REWARD SMILE (H256) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 2 COLOURFUL EMPEROR (H167) Y L Chung Withdrawn on 25.6.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).
Before being allowed to race again, COLOURFUL EMPEROR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Favourite Copartner Prance wore down Harmony N Blessed 60m out after a speed-chasing run for a sixth consecutive win and fifth over the Valley 1,200m. Harmony N Blessed would not go down without a fight after clearing to lead from gate seven. He is as honest as the day is long sprinting over this course. Punted late, Super Capitalist stayed on nicely for third after recovering from an awkward start to travel in the boxseat 700m out. It was another good effort carrying top weight following back-to-back wins. Reward Smile ran on steadily to fill the frame from just worse than midfield. He rarely produces a bad run sprinting at either course. Sing Dragon got going late to finish next best after being restrained from the widest draw to make his run at the rear. He didn't disgrace but is a better horse on the dirt course. Copartner Ambition produced a grinding effort after settling one off the rail in midfield. He needed the outing after coming up lame in March. Gummy Gummy came up flat after a one-out, one-back run. It was an out-of-character performance.
