Horse No 2 TRUE GENIUS (J073) Y L Chung Slow to begin.
Bumped near the 400 Metres.
Horse No 3 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) J McDonald Became fractious after being loaded into the starting gates, removed and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was suitable to race.

Horse No 8 FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (G452) A Badel Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
From the 400 Metres to the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 10 SUMMIT IMPACT (J125) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover until the 700 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 SUNSTRIDER (J168) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then was crowded.
Briefly held up near the 400 Metres.
Horse No 12 LOST CHILD (G461) L Hewitson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind SUMMIT IMPACT before shifting to that runner's inside to obtain a run.
In this incident, LOST CHILD shifted in and made contact with TRUE GENIUS.
Horse No 13 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) A Hamelin Near the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from SUMMIT IMPACT.
Horse No 14 SUGAR BALL (H394) M Chadwick C L Chau (FUN TOGETHER) was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in near the 800 Metres when not clear of SUGAR BALL.

After narrowly missing out on Hong Kong debut, Young Champion made no mistake to break through in the city at the second time of asking under a good James McDonald ride. One off in fourth in running, Young Champion went to the front about 200m from home and dug deep to hold off the challenge of Green N White and salute by a length. Green N White loomed up ominously from midfield but couldn't quite find enough to post his third victory of the season, while favourite Amazing Victory made ground from the back half of the field under Hugh Bowman to finish a length and a quarter away in third. Fun Together was popular in betting late but could only manage fourth after leading, while $38 chance Tamra Blitz was fifth. David Hall's Sunstrider exceeded market expectations on Hong Kong debut, sticking on for sixth under Luke Ferraris at $70, three lengths off the winner.
