Race Nine : (377) - YAN TIN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 SWEET ENCOUNTER (G426) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 I AM THE BOSS (H446) L Hewitson Approaching the 200 Metres ran out when being directed to the outside of FLAMINGO TRILLION to obtain clear running, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
When being corrected, I AM THE BOSS then shifted in and was briefly positioned close to FLAMINGO TRILLION.
Horse No 4 BEAUTYVERSE (H075) Y L Chung After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that with blinkers on for the first time, he was asked from the outside barrier to go forward and lead if possible.
He said after obtaining the lead near the 1100 Metres BEAUTYVERSE raced keenly due to wearing blinkers for the first time and as a result set a strong pace in the middle stages.
Horse No 5 FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (G452) H Bowman Near the 200 Metres raced in restricted room between STAR MAC and BEAUTY MISSILE.
Horse No 6 ACCOLADE START (H331) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly.
After the 200 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of I AM THE BOSS which shifted in.
Horse No 7 POWERFUL WINGS (G225) J Kah From the 200 Metres until passing the 100 Metres was held up behind I AM THE BOSS.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 AESTHETICISM (H289) L Ferraris Near the 100 Metres lay in behind BEAUTY MISSILE and was steadied.

Horse No 11 FLAMINGO TRILLION (H192) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 MARADO (E245) A Badel When questioned, A Badel stated that from a wide barrier he was given the option to ride the horse conservatively in the early stages if it did not show sufficient pace to go forward.
He said with the pace of the event being run inside of standard in the early stages, he shifted his mount across behind runners, but MARADO did not travel well at any stage and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 13 STAR MAC (J053) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 14 NOT A FEW (J109) M Chadwick Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Sweet Encounter just got up to deny Flamingo Trillion after making his run five back and two off the fence with cover for a fifth career win and second from five starts over the 1,600m. Favourite Flamingo Trillion found one just too good after rushing to the lead 250m out travelling second on the fence. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in back-to-back runs. Star Mac ran on nicely to finish a close third after making his run four from the rear. He's made a good impression to place in two of four local starts and can break through shortly. Golden Artie found a few too good after a handy run one off the fence. He continues to finish in the mix in his past four starts after a Valley 1,200m win in October. Flagship Warrior dashed late for fifth without threatening the top four following a patient ride two from the rear. It was another honest effort. Beauty Missile ran on steadily after a one-off trip from midfield. He doesn't appear from his past few runs to be far off a bottom. Beautyverse was stopping 100m out after going forward very wide to find the lead 1,050m out. He continues to disappoint.
