Racing Incident Report
Race One : (167) - KOKURA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 ALLOY KING (D287) A Hamelin After the race, A Hamelin reported that his instructions were to endeavour to hold a forward position, but from a wide barrier, carrying top weight of 135 lbs, he was unable to continued forward in the early stages and as a result raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 AUGUST MOON (D409) K C Leung Near the 1000 Metres was steadied when crossed by SWEET DIAMOND (A Badel) which shifted in when not quite clear.
A Badel was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 3 H Z TOURBILLON (E149) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly and became unbalanced and then shortly after was steadied when crowded.
Approaching the 250 Metres lay in and away from NOIR RIDER and as a result made contact with the hindquarters of AMAZING TRAVIS and became unbalanced.
Horse No 5 CRYSTAL POWERFUL (H068) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 6 EIGHT TRIGRAMS (C102) C L Chau Near the 350 Metres was bumped by VALHALLA which shifted out to improve.
Near the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded between VALHALLA which shifted out slightly and VIVA A LA (K De Melo) which shifted in.
K De Melo was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 SWEET DIAMOND (G063) A Badel Bumped shortly after the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, SWEET DIAMOND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 9 BRAVE AND BOLD (H275) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, BRAVE AND BOLD will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 10 VALHALLA (E495) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 VIVA A LA (G282) K De Melo Approaching the 100 Metres was eased away from VALHALLA (C Y Ho) which shifted out.
C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 12 NOIR RIDER (E138) Y L Chung Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied away from AUGUST MOON.
Sent for sampling post-race.

After getting a lovely run fourth on the fence, odds-on favourite Valhalla took control 150m out for a second win over the Valley 1,200m from six starts this term. He relished the step up in trip after going close last start. Noir Rider ran on well to easily grab second after a patient ride fourth last from a middle draw. He lived up to an improved effort second up last month on the dirt. H Z Tourbillon finished well for third near the inside after getting badly squeezed out at the jump. It was a good run following a downgrade. Punted late, Viva A La stayed on reasonably well to run fourth after settling third without cover behind the leading pair. Hercules closed nicely down the outside to finish next best after making his run two from the rear. He has the tools to get away with a race in this grade. August Moon ran on steadily to earn a minor cheque after a one-off run from midfield. Amazing Travis made some ground without threatening from behind midfield. Sweet Diamond weakened over the last 100m after getting pressured up front by Eight Trigrams. He's limited.
