Recap by phillip woo
Raging favourite Lucky Sweynesse got the better of Wellington 150m out after tracking the speed in third following a tardy start for an 11th win from 15 starts. He's a superstar up to 1,400m. Punted late Wellington found one too smart after poking his head in front 300m out following a speed chasing run. He ran well but was beaten by a better horse on the day. Master Eight led and stuck on well for third. It was his best run of the campaign following a change in tactics. Specked late Rewarding Together came from last to fill a quartet spot. He's as honest as the day is long. Cordyceps Six produced a grinding performance from midfield on the fence with late-market action. He's just not up to this class. Courier Wonder never came on after getting posted wide in midfield from the 800m. Whizz Kid briefly improved to around midfield 800m out after a very slow start but tamely retreated in the straight drive.
