Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (390) - CLEAR WATER BAY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
GOLDEN LINK, which took control of its rider behind the barriers and made contact with a running rail, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race.
ZONE D lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and was slow to begin.
From wide barriers, UNIVERSAL CROWN and EL JEFE were shifted across behind runners soon after the start.
Soon after the start, SEAWEED FORTUNE was crowded for room between TRAVEL GLORY which was taken in by PEARL CHAMPION and ULTRA EXPRESS which was taken out by BEST FOR YOU.
After losing ground in this incident, SEAWEED FORTUNE was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed.
GOLDEN LINK travelled very wide and without cover from the 900 Metres and in the Straight gave ground.
GREEN ENVY was left racing wide and without cover approaching the 800 Metres.
ZONE D was held up for clear running from passing the 400 Metres until approaching the 150 Metres where it shifted to the outside of the heels of ULTRA EXPRESS to improve.
Approaching the 50 Metres, GREEN ENVY, which was giving ground, shifted out and inconvenienced TRAVEL GLORY and PEARL CHAMPION.
GREEN ENVY was promptly straightened by its rider.
Also approaching the 50 Metres, SEAWEED FORTUNE was shifted to the outside of the heels of DIAMOND RHYME to continue improving.
C Y Ho (SEAWEED FORTUNE) was fined the sum of $5,000 for using his whip forward of the saddle in the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN LINK and MORE THAN ENOUGH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WINS ALL, ULTRA EXPRESS and GREEN ENVY were sent for sampling.

Ultra Express just got up in the final strides following a one-off run better than midfield for a maiden win at his fifth start. He proved a placing with a step up to the 1,400m last start was not a fluke and should remain competitively rated. Green Envy ran on well after a wide without cover run in midfield to make it close on the wire. He's run very well in back-to-back runs following a win in Class Five. Favourite Wins All was swamped late after hitting the front 250m out following a box-seat run. It was another honest effort. El Jefe came on strongly widest out from towards the rear to make it close on the wire. He can produce an odd good run now and then. Diamond Rhyme grudgingly gave way over the final 150m after finding the front from a wide gate. He prefers to be ridden on the back of the speed with cover. Zone D made good progress late after being held up early straight at the rear. He's clearly got ability and remains one to follow.
