Recap by phillip woo

Favourite California Rad was too smart in the end after hitting the front 150m out following a handy run one off the fence. He's a freak over this course and distance and can hold his own in Class Two off a light weight. Hardly Swears closed strongly to easily take second without menacing the winner after settling fourth last in the run. He likes this trip and goes well fresh. Victory Power ran on well after a one-off run in midfield to finish a clear-cut third. He's as honest as the day is long. Master Albert made a nice bid late between a wall of horses to just take fourth ahead of California Levee after biding his time one from the rear. California Levee ran on nicely down the outside from towards to the rear to just miss a Quartet spot. He might be heading in the right direction now and might take a tower of beating if he finds his way into Class Four. Sacred Ibis finished ran on well from the rear of the field after a slow start. It was a positive effort over an unsuitable trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (17) - CAUSEWAY BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

SACRED IBIS was slow to begin.

VICTORY POWER and CALIFORNIA LEVEE bumped at the start.

CALIFORNIA LEVEE then shifted out, resulting in HARDLY SWEARS being crowded for room inside CUE THE MUSIC which also shifted in.

TRIPLE TRIPLE shifted out at the start and brushed FLYING BONUS.

From the outside barrier, MASTER ALBERT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

In the early stages, TRIPLE TRIPLE was left racing wide and without cover and after the 800 Metres was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead.

After obtaining the lead approaching the 1000 Metres, FLYING BONUS travelled keenly and got its head up for some distance.

At the entrance to the Straight, M Chadwick (CALIFORNIA LEVEE) dropped his right rein.

AURORA PEGASUS was held up for clear running from passing the 200 Metres until near the 150 Metres and then approaching and passing the 100 Metres raced tight inside TRIPLE TRIPLE.

Over the concluding stages, CALIFORNIA LEVEE lay in and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of VICTORY POWER and consequently was not able to be fully tested all the way to the end of the race.

K Teetan (CALIFORNIA RAD) was reminded of his obligation not to raise his whip arm above the height of his shoulder.

A veterinary inspection of LITTLE BIRD immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, LITTLE BIRD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of AURORA PEGASUS, FLYING BONUS and TRIPLE TRIPLE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CALIFORNIA RAD and HARDLY SWEARS were sent for sampling.
