Firming favourite Smart Leader just held on after rushing to the front near the inside following a handy run on the fence to open his win account at 16th start. The win was overdue and he should remain competitive in the grade. Ambitious Heart made it close on the wire after settling effectively one-out, one-back. He does go well fresh and likes this Valley trip. Jumbo Happiness made it a blanket finish after one-off run in midfield. He's an honest sprinter over this course. Ballistic King ran on well after making his run one off the fence behind midfield. It was another honest effort and he might be itching for a step up to the 1,400m. Nordic Warrior finished well down the outside but left things too late going back from the widest gate. Forza Angel gave up 100m out after assuming the lead from Dream Come True near the 200m. It wasn't a bad run but he's more effective over the minimum trip. Frustrated did not fire following a box-seat run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (28) - CHUNG HOM KOK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

MEGA RED began awkwardly and lost ground.

DREAM COME TRUE shifted in at the start and inconvenienced FRUSTRATED.

From the outside barriers, JADE THEATRE and NORDIC WARRIOR were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

From a wide barrier, MR PICCASO was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

BALLISTIC KING lost its left hind plate in the early stages.

Making the turn approaching the 1000 Metres, JADE THEATRE momentarily raced in restricted room inside MR PICASSO.

After the race, B Shinn stated that he was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of FRUSTRATED.

He said after being able to obtain a trailing position behind the leader DREAM COME TRUE, FRUSTRATED obtained clear running to the inside of that horse at the entrance to the Straight, however, did not finish off the race after being placed under pressure.

A veterinary inspection of FRUSTRATED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FORZA ANGEL had sustained a minor wound to the right hind pastern.

SMART LEADER and AMBITIOUS HEART were sent for sampling.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 8 September 2019 The Veterinary Surgeon reported that CRUISING had a left front tendon injury day after racing.

Before being allowed to race again, CRUISING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of FORTUNE HAPPINESS, EXPONENTS, CALIFORNIA LEGEND, SUCH A HAPPINESS, BIG BULLY, LOTUS BREEZE, CAPTAIN BOSS, BIG FORTUNE, AURORA PEGASUS, TOUCH OF LUCK, DOLLAR REWARD, GUNNAR, DESTIN, CITY LEGEND, INVINCIBLE MISSILE, BIG TIME BABY, ELUSIVE STATE, WINNER SUPREME, SILVER FIG, UTOPIA LIFE, CRAIG'S STAR, COOL TEAM and LOBO'S LEGEND revealed no apparent abnormality.
