Recap by phillip woo

It may not be a strong race with maidens filling the top four positions. Cash Courier peeled out at the 250m following a patient ride third from the rear along the fence and quickened nicely to get up in the shadows of the post for a first win at his 23rd start. It's taken him a while to hit form but he did arrive off a mark of 70 so a return to Class Four off a lightweight over the 1,650m or 1,800m might still keep him competitive. Lucky Ball just got up in the final stride for second following a box-seat run. He's still to win 13 starts but does seem to perform best over this trip. Dutch Windmill really got going late after travelling one from the rear to nearly snatch second in an improved effort with a step to the mile and return to the Valley. Favourite Bliss Cartel knocked up inside the last 100m after getting his own way up front but still has made the frame in three of his past four starts so all is not a lost cause. Soccer Brave made some ground from the back despite badly missing the kick. It was a better run with a step up in distance but he'll have to correct his bad behaviour at the gates.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (139)-ASTER HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Metres

SOCCER BRAVE stood flat-footed as the start was effected and consequently lost a significant amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, SOCCER BRAVE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

LE PEGASE shifted in at the start and bumped THUNDER DASH which became unbalanced.

DUTCH WINDMILL began awkwardly and bumped THUNDERSTROKE shortly after the start.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, DUTCH WINDMILL was awkwardly placed close to the heels of REAL SUPREME which was being steadied to obtain a position with cover.

Throughout the race, THUNDERSTROKE travelled wide and without cover and commenced to give ground near the 550 Metres.

When THUNDERSTROKE commenced to give ground near the 550 Metres, FAITHFUL BOY was obliged to shift wider to improve around that horse.

A short distance later, MEDIC SWORDSMAN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of THUNDERSTROKE.

A veterinary inspection of THUNDERSTROKE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

The performance of THUNDERSTROKE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, THUNDERSTROKE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Throughout the race and particularly in the Home Straight, DUTCH WINDMILL lay in and proved difficult to ride.

A veterinary inspection of REAL SUPREME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of REAL SUPREME, which also finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, REAL SUPREME will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of FAITHFUL BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BLISS CARTEL, CASH COURIER and LUCKY BALL were sent for sampling.
