Hong Kong’s athletes have been arriving in Paris for the Olympic Games, hoping to write their names into the history books.

The city won six medals at the last Olympics in Tokyo in 2021, having never previously collected more than one per Games. This time it has several athletes again chasing a podium finish.

Here is how to follow their progress, particularly for those watching from Hong Kong.

When are Paris Olympics?

The Paris Olympics opening ceremony is set to take place from 7.30pm to 11pm Central European Time (CET) on Friday, July 26.

The six-hour time difference means that is 1.30am to 5am on July 27, Hong Kong time.

By then, the sporting action will have started too, and it will continue almost non-stop until the closing ceremony on Sunday, August 11, which is scheduled to run from 9pm to 11.15pm CET (3am to 5.15am HKT).

When will Hong Kong athletes compete?

Swimmer Siobhan Haughey is looking to improve on the two silver medals she won in Tokyo. She will start her campaign with the 200 metres freestyle heats on Sunday July 28 at 5pm, with the semi-finals almost 11 hours later at 3.50am.

The final is at 3.41am on July 30.
