South Korean shooter Kim Ye-ji has been crowned the “coolest person on the planet” by netizens after a photo of her in sci-fi shooter glasses and an ice-cold stance at the Paris Olympics went viral on the internet.

The 31-year-old Kim took home silver in the women’s 10-metre air pistol event on Sunday, and pictures of her quickly went viral for her unbothered demeanour.

Sporting cyberpunk shooter glasses, oozing coolness and juxtaposing the fact that she was carrying a stuffed elephant that reportedly belongs to her daughter, Kim won the hearts of netizens quickly.

Older footage of Kim competing at the World Cup in Azerbaijan in May began circulating and caught the attention of internet users, including one who said: “She’s officially the coolest person on the planet; unbelievable aura.”

The video in question showed Kim winning gold in the 25-metre pistol competition, setting a world record in the process.
