This is an absolute classic mountaineering documentary, a bestselling book and now also a play. If it was made up, it would seem too far fetched to be entertaining. But it is true and that is what makes it so gripping.
Joe Simpson and Simon Yates venture into the Andes to scale an unclimbed face. But when Simpson gruesomely breaks his leg high in the mountain, all seems lost. Yates is left with a dilemma – try and save Simpson and they will both probably die, or save himself.
