The fifth race of the all-electric racing series’ fifth season takes place on March 10, meaning a number of roads in the area will be closed temporarily for use as part of the racetrack.

Government departments including the traffic police, the Transport Department and the Emergency Transport Coordination Centre (ETCC) will monitor traffic conditions throughout the race weekend.

“In case of major congestion, some additional traffic arrangements will be implemented as early as possible to alleviate disruption,” Li Wai-sing, director of transport consultant MVA Hong Kong, said at a press conference in Admiralty’s Conrad Hotel.

Organisers have reviewed the temporary arrangements from Formula E’s last visit in December 2017 to ensure traffic during race weekend is kept at a minimum.

Public transport routes operating on certain parts of Man Po Street, Man Kwong Street, Man Cheung Street, Man Yiu Street, Lung Wo Road and the entire Yiu Sing Street will be closed from 1.15am on Saturday March 9 until 5.15am on Monday March 11. Vehicle access and pedestrian paths and crossings will all be suspended during the same period too.
