ONE Championship has finally rebooked the super fight everybody was hoping to see earlier this month.
Tawanchai PK Saenchai will defend his ONE featherweight Muay Thai title against the former kickboxing king Superbon Singha Mawynn on December 9.
The seismic title fight will emanate from the Thai capital’s famed Lumpinee Stadium, and serve as the main event of the ONE Fight Night 17 card.
The two were set to headline October 7’s event at the same venue, but the 33-year-old Superbon was forced to withdraw with a severe calf injury three weeks out.

ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong had said the fight could be rebooked for December’s ONE 165 card in Qatar, or even Tokyo in January.
But the appeal of hosting it in front of a fevered Thai audience was seemingly to hard to ignore, especially given the raucous atmosphere of last month’s huge fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmookao.
No other fights have been officially confirmed for ONE Fight Night 17, which will take place a week after the martial arts promotion’s debut show in Doha.
Tawanchai ended up facing “Smokin’” Jo Nattawut in a three-round kickboxing fight on short notice instead of Superbon, and laboured to a unanimous decision where he admitted he was not at his best.

“The next fight will be with Superbon,” Tawanchai said after his fight. “There has been a lot of changes there with the injuries.
“But the fans want to see it. I don’t have anything to say to Superbon other than I’ll see you in the ring.”
Superbon insisted any claims he was “ducking” his compatriot – as some fans had suggested – were laughable.
“You listen to me,” he told the Post last month. “I am a professional fighter. I fight everywhere in the world to become a champion, it’s nothing to do with that.”
