The martial arts promotion’s chairman and CEO told the Post he had tried to book the 36-year-old in a rematch with Jonathan Haggerty, who claimed the belt in April with a stunning first-round KO.

But Nong-O was forced to spend several days in an intensive care unit (ICU) recently, Chatri said in a series of text messages.

The Thai legend had been advertised to host a meet-and-greet with fans last Saturday morning at Lumpinee Stadium, ahead of ONE Fight Night 15 in Bangkok, before falling ill.

But he was later replaced by his compatriot Stamp Fairtex, who will fight Ham Seo-hee for the interim atomweight MMA title in Singapore on September 30.
