ONE Championship referee Paopom Watcharin found dead at home in Bangkok aged 34

Popular ONE Championship referee Paopom Watcharin was found dead at his home in Bangkok by police on Friday.
The 34-year-old last officiated during June 10’s ONE Fight Night 11 event at Lumpinee, refereeing Superbon’s second-round knockout of Tayfun Ozcan in their featherweight kickboxing fight.
Paopom had been due to appear on Friday night’s ONE Lumpinee card at the famed stadium in the Thai capital, but did not show up for the event which started at 7.30pm local time.
“No one would know that the fight between Superbon and Tayfun Oscan would be the last time we would see Paopom,” ONE said in a statement on its Thai Instagram page.
“Throughout our time working together, Paopom was perfect. He has never been late for a minute, but on Friday, June 16, Paopom did not appear at Lumpini as usual. After trying to contact him by phone several times, we heard the news that made the whole team upset.”

According to reports in Thai media, police found the referee dead around 10pm in a condominium in the Bang Kapi area.
