ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong has paid tribute to Victoria Lee after her death at 18-years-old.
“The Prodigy” – who went 3-0 in Singapore-based martial arts promotion ONE – died on Boxing Day in Hawaii, where she lived and trained with her family.
Her elder sister Angela Lee, ONE’s atomweight MMA champion, confirmed her death in an Instagram post on Saturday.
No cause of death has been publicly given. A celebration of Lee’s life will be held on January 22 before her burial.
“I am heartbroken by Victoria Lee’s passing,” Chatri wrote in a Facebook post.
“I first met Victoria when she was 11 years old. I watched her blossom over the years as a martial artist and a human being. I always remember thinking how wise, thoughtful, and selfless she was beyond her years.
