ONE Championship 156: five storylines to watch in Singapore, as Jackie Buntan looks to fulfil her childhood dream
- Asian martial arts promotion returns with two title fights on Friday evening inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium
- Card also features strawweight MMA title eliminator, and the returning of kick-boxing superstar Anissa Meksen

Late last month, ONE Championship celebrated its 10th anniversary with the blockbuster ONE X event in Singapore. This Friday, the Asian martial arts promotion is back in action with the intriguing ONE Championship 156 card, also out of “The Lion City”.
The card – formally known as ONE: Reloaded, but now marking a return by the company to numbered events – will be topped by a pair of compelling championship showdowns, with plenty of meaningful contender clashes sprinkled in for seasoning.
Here are five storylines to keep an eye on ahead of the 15-fight event.

Eersel attempts fourth title defence
Regian Eersel has quietly become one of ONE’s most dominant champions.
Since claiming the promotion’s lightweight kick-boxing title with a victory over Nieky Holzken in 2019, the 29-year-old Surinamese-Dutchman has defended it three times, beating Holzken in a rematch, then thwarting Mustapha Haida and Islam Murtazaev – all by decision.
He is now on an 18-fight unbeaten streak that spans over 2,000 days, and will look to keep his momentum going when he takes on Germany’s Arian Sadikovic in Friday’s headlining attraction.
Time will tell if Sadikovic, who debuted in ONE with a win over Haida late last year, can put an end to the impressive reign of “The Immortal”.
