ONE Championship has teased its imminent new United States broadcast deal will be “10 times better”, with negotiations in the final stage.
Asian martial arts promotion ONE has aired on Turner platforms in the US since 2018. With that deal nearing its conclusion, there has been widespread speculation as to where the promotion will air in the country going forward.
According to chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, fans can expect news in the next few weeks.
“We should be announcing that in the next several weeks at the latest,” the ONE boss told the Post. “We are in the long form contract stage, and we have agreed to all the terms.
“It is a major broadcaster,” he added. “I think it’s gonna excite US fans, and I can say this much: the deal construct and the broadcaster, everything together in my mind is 10 times better than the deal that we had at Turner in terms of being able to offer something on a regular basis to the US fans.”
Chatri also revealed that a second season of The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition, the promotion’s 2021 spin-off of the popular reality television show, is currently in development.
The first season of the series debuted on Netflix in roughly 150 countries on February 1, and will arrive in other countries, including the US, in the coming months.
