You do not get paid by the hour in MMA and that is probably a good thing for Hong Kong’s Ramona Pascual. Her Invicta FC debut was over in just a minute.
In the co-main event of Invicta FC 45 in Kansas City, Pascual saw an opportunity to shine on the biggest stage of women’s MMA and boy did she take it.
Her opponent, Shamir Peshewa, who stepped up as a late replacement, was in trouble from the opening bell as Pascual pushed forward and landed a barrage of strikes and knees. Peshewa really did not stand a chance.
“Vicious and violent” was how Invicta FC cage-side commentators called it, and they were not wrong. Pascual’s win improves her professional mixed martial arts record to six wins with just two losses, and it’s hard not to see the Hong Kong native in the UFC some time soon.
“I feel amazing. A lot of hard work went into this, just like everyone else that comes in here,” Pascual said.
“It was good to see it all come to fruition. I’ve been in Vegas since March, I moved across the world just to make this happen. I made a lot of sacrifices.
