UFC: Angela Hill says if Rose Namajunas is underdog vs Zhang Weili ‘that’s a good fight to put money on’
- Strawweight contender and analyst Hill predicts another ‘epic’ title bout in UFC 261 main event next month
- ‘Overkill’ feels Namajunas has ‘more options’ and can ‘make it tough’ for Chinese champion
Zhang Weili’s second title defence was made official this week for UFC 261, with Rose Namajunas set to provide another stern test of the strawweight champion’s credentials.
The Chinese fighter has already dispatched one former 115-pound champ in Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in the Fight of the Year 12 months ago, and No 12-ranked Angela Hill is predicting another classic.
“Her fight with Joanna was epic because they both decided to stand in front of each other and hit each other, that isn’t how I see Rose taking this fight,” Hill, who fights Ashley Yoder at UFC Vegas 21 this Saturday, told SCMP MMA.
“I feel Rose is gonna approach it like her fight with [Jessica] Andrade, she’s gonna try and stick and move not take too much damage.”
The American “Thug” Namajunas earned another crack at the belt with a split decision over Jessica Andrade last summer, exacting revenge over the woman who dethroned her (whom Zhang then TKO’d in 42 seconds).
