Nate Diaz may finally have a fight booked again soon, according to UFC president Dana White.

The 35-year-old Stockton native last fought in a third-round loss via doctor’s stoppage to Jorge Masvidal for the ‘BMF’ belt at UFC 244 in 2019. He has fought just twice since losing an infamous Conor McGregor rematch in August 2016.
“We’re working on a Nate Diaz fight right now [at] lightweight. And it’s not Tony [Ferguson]. But if we get it done, I think you’re going to like it,” White told The Mac Life.
“It would put him in a really good position if he won that fight, and the guy who he could potentially be fighting I think is a great fight for him, too.”
It is unclear how far along fan favourite Diaz is in his training and preparations. He posted a video hitting pads alongside his brother, the retired UFC fighter Nick Diaz in December.
