Ben Askren thinks ‘coward’ Jake Paul is backing out of boxing match – ‘he went silent’
- Former UFC star gives fans an update on the proposed March bout in video posted to Instagram
- ‘Jacob’s kind of a coward. Sorry guys, don’t think the fight is gonna happen,’ says Askren

Hold fire on that Ben Askren vs Jake Paul boxing match, folks. The “Funky” one thinks it may not happen after all.
Retired former UFC star Askren (19-2) claimed last week he had accepted a fight against Paul in Los Angeles in March. The 23-year-old YouTuber seemingly called out every MMA fighter under the sun following his knockout of former NBA star Nate Robinson last month.
But the 36-year-old Askren posted a video on Instagram suggesting Paul is backing out.
“I’m retired, coaching wrestling, doing some podcasts, buying some bitcoin, enjoying life,” former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight champ Askren said.
“I don’t really want to fight anybody. So November, this jabroni Jake Paul calls me out, puts up a poster with my name. It’s kinda funny, whatever, no big deal.
