Demetrious Johnson is set to challenge Adriano Moraes for the ONE flyweight title on May 29 in Manila, Philippines. To say the lead-up to this fight is unusual for him would be an understatement.

First off, there is the question of whether it will actually happen as planned. While the bout currently has a date and setting, Johnson has doubts that he will be able to make it to Asia – let alone leave the United States.

“The fight’s still scheduled for May 29,” the former UFC flyweight champion told the Post. “Do I think it’s going to happen? No, I don’t. I don’t even know if I can book a ticket to Singapore right now to get acclimated to the timezone.

“Singapore keeps getting more cases. I have no idea what Manila's cases are looking like. Florida just opened their beaches up – people are out there partying on the beaches. So I have no idea what the hell's going on.”

If the fight does go ahead as planned – in Manila or even on ONE’s home turf in Singapore – Johnson will have to find a way to prepare without access to his gym.
