UFC 246: Conor McGregor tells Donald Cerrone to expect ‘bullseye’ vision ahead of scheduled fight
- The UFC’s former double champ has uncharacteristically friendly response to veteran Cerrone’s post about breaking series of all-time records
- McGregor wishes ‘Cowboy’ a happy winter break but ends with a subtle warning about upcoming bout
The 31-year-old McGregor (21-4), responded to Cerrone’s (36-13) Instagram post listing some impressive UFC-career accolades, which include all-time most wins, finishes, post-fight bonuses and knockouts via kicks. This will be “Cowboy’s” 51st career MMA-fight.
“Good man Donald, enjoy the Christmas dinner,” McGregor said in the comments. “Happy holidays to you and the family, from the McGregors here in Ireland. See you in 20/20 with bullseye vision.”
The Irishman has not fought since his fourth-round submission loss to current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018. He announced his return to the sport in a Moscow fan event in October, citing the January 18 card in Las Vegas as top priority.
McGregor and Cerrone will locks horns in the 170-pound weight-class, meaning McGregor will be moving up from his conventional featherweight and lightweight divisions. He has not fought at 170 pounds since his two fights with Nate Diaz, which ended with one win apiece.
