The Hong Kong protesters certainly garnered some negative headlines for their violent storming of the legislature on Monday, in their continued demonstrations against a now-suspended extradition bill.

But many of their polite gestures have also caught the attention of the world – and one in particular was highlighted by UFC commentator and podcaster extraordinaire Joe Rogan.

“Did you see the Hong Kong protests that are going on? These crazy protests,” Rogan said to guest Yves Edwards, a UFC lightweight veteran, on the latest episode of his show.

“What was amazing is there was an ambulance, there’s giant crowds on the streets, thousands if not a million people, they part like the sea for this ambulance. It’s crazy.”

A video went viral on social media showing protesters making way for an ambulance amid the June 16 protest, when two million Hongkongers made history in the city’s biggest ever march.

“If that s*** was happening in America, good luck – you can blow that horn all you want,” Rogan said. “I saw an overhead shot of it … it was this giant sea of people and they all just made way, everybody got right out of the way for ambulances.”
