Rodtang Jitmuangnon scored a stunning first-round knockout against Takeru Segawa at ONE 172 on Sunday, ending the highly anticipated clash in just one minute, 20 seconds.

In the build up to the fight, Japanese kickboxing star Takeru said beating ‘The Iron Man’ at the Saitama Super Arena in his homeland would mean he had “achieved everything” in his career but the fight did not go as he had planned.

Rodtang, meanwhile, reacted to heavy criticism for missing weight in his last fight by enlisting the help of renowned combat sports nutritionist Peter Miller for his bout with Takeru – and the results were stark.

After planting a right low kick, Rodtang unleashed a savage left hook-straight combo, then repeated the trick before firing another monster left hook that connected with Takeru’s chin.

‘The Natural Born Crusher’ was sent tumbling to the canvas, unable to beat the count.

“That woke me up,” Rodtang said of missing weight before his last fight. “It told me I had to work harder, wake up in the morning, train hard, and do everything I could to get my belt back.
