Head coach Jenifer Marrosu’s team sealed a bronze in their first appearance of the event after beating Jizni Mesto of the Czech Republic 8-4 in the medal play-off. Hong Kong finished behind winners LCC Radotin (Czech Republic) and second-placed Munchen (Germany).

Despite going down within 40 seconds, Hong Kong quickly took control thanks to a first-half hat-trick from Kinuko Ito, sandwiching Charlotte Hartley’s double. Chow Tsz-ching added one after the break, before top goalscorer Hartley completed her own hat-trick to seal the win.

It was a particularly promising outing for captain Daphne Li, who won the tournament’s MVP award across seven games.

The 28-year-old scored four goals throughout the tournament but it was her consistent resilience and lacrosse IQ that stole the show. Hartley, Ito and Steffi Sze finished atop the team’s goalscoring leaderboard.
