Hong Kong Spartan Race events postponed until ‘first half of 2021’ over coronavirus fears
- Organisers take decision ‘in light of ongoing uncertainty and to comply with continuing government public health regulations’
- ‘Spartan Trifecta Weekend’ and kids events, plus 10k and half-marathon trail events, now set for next year

Organisers have cancelled the upcoming tranche of Spartan events because of uncertainty over the coronavirus pandemic and fears of a looming fourth wave of the disease.
The “Spartan Trifecta Weekend” and Spartan Kids events, originally scheduled for November 28-29, and the 10k and half-marathon Spartan Trail events, originally scheduled for December 6, are all postponed until the “first half of 2021”.
Organisers took the decision “in light of the ongoing uncertainty occasioned by Covid-19 and to comply with continuing government public health regulations”.
“The new race dates and arrangements will be announced in due course and in compliance with all local regulations,” a statement read.
It serves as another blow to the city’s battered extreme sports scene in 2020.
