Now athletics chiefs have to convince him to start training full-time.
Chow, 21, emerged from a strong field of local runners to become the best finisher at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on Sunday.
His finishing time of two hours, 25 minutes and 57 seconds was also the best result of any Hong Kong runner in the event’s history.
Chow finished only 14 minutes behind record-breaking winner Barnabus Kiptum, of Kenya, who blitzed the field in 2:09:21.

“I am super happy with the result,” said Chow, who last month broke the Hong Kong 3,000-metre steeplechase record.
