Chan recorded 14.15 seconds to win the race yesterday, setting a new Hong Kong record by 0.09 seconds.

There will be two more races before the Asian Championships and, hopefully, I can make it

However, the result was still not good enough to ensure he makes the Asian Championships in June with the qualifying mark for that event standing at 14.11 seconds.

"There will be two more races before the Asian Championships and, hopefully, I can make it," said Chan.

The Hong Kong Championships will be held early next month, followed by the Taiwan Open Meet in mid-May. These two events are where Chan expects to record a better result against some top overseas hurdlers.
