Hong Kong's Jiang Tianyi clinches first title in nine years
Women's hope Lee Ho-ching lost her final to Japan's Misako Wakamiya
Jiang Tianyi won his first men's singles table tennis title in nine years after clinching the ITTF Hungarian Open at the weekend.
The second seed from Hong Kong narrowly edged out Jeong Sang-eun of South Korea after seven games in Budapest, holding off a late surge by his opponent for a 4-3 victory.
Jiang last won a tour title back in 2005 when he was crowned the German Open champion.
It was a different story in the women's singles, however, as Hong Kong's Lee Ho-ching was beaten in the final by Misako Wakamiya of Japan 4-2.
Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun and Li Ching-wan won a silver medal in the women's doubles after losing 3-1 to their Austrian opponents, while Ho Kwan-kit won the boys under-21 singles title.
