Asian Tour adds 2 Thailand stops to International Series schedule, Catlin eyes LIV return
- Back-to-back events in October will form part of 8-week stretch with US$15.5 million up for grabs
The Asian Tour has added two stops in Thailand to its International Series schedule for 2024, ending the season on a high with a run of six tournaments over eight weeks.
Some US$15.5 million will be up for grabs over the closing stretch, along with order of merit ranking points and a spot in next season’s LIV Golf League for the winner.
The back-to-back events will take place at the Black Mountain Golf Club from October 17 to 20, and Thai Country Club, in Hua Hin, a week later.
Series order of merit leader John Catlin, who is playing for Crushers GC at this week’s LIV tournament in the UK, said he was looking forward to playing courses he was especially familiar with.
The American, who was born in Sacramento, won the Thailand Open at Black Mountain in 2019, and spent five years living in Hua Hin, which he referred to as his “hometown”.
“Both events are definitely something I’m looking forward to,” Catlin told reporters at JCB Golf and Country Club. “I think I have a great chance of winning that. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.”
