Organisers set up various activities for the public to take part in, especially for those unable to make the trek to Fanling for the Asian Tour and European Tour-sanctioned tournament, which tees off on Thursday at Hong Kong Golf Club.

Tom Phillips, chief executive of the Hong Kong Golf Association, said of the Urban Golf Challenge: “This is very much part of our efforts to engage the public during the tournament.

“There are plenty of activities to take part in and we hope the public will gain a greater appreciation of golf by coming down to Chater Gardens.

“This venue will be here all week and we hope people come down to enjoy themselves.

Office workers will be able to watch the action live from a giant screen installed at Chater Garden. Members of the public can also test their skills in driving, putting and a special bunker shot.
