Beijing Guoan played their first game of the new bubble, and second of the pandemic-affected Champions League season, against K-League side FC Seoul.
Bruno Genesio’s team, who finished third in the CSL season that finished earlier this month, drew early blood with a Fernando goal after just eight minutes, the striker firing home via a deflection after a Zhang Yuning lay off.
It was always going to be an uphill task for the notoriously goal-shy Seoul outfit and so it proved. The Beijing side would double their lead after an hour through Alan Carvalho.
The on-loan Guangzhou Evergrande forward fired home from outside the area following a Renato Augusto through ball.
