Adopted American teenage skier Kai Owens has shared her delight at sealing an emotional return to her country of birth, after being selected for the US moguls team for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Owens shared the news of her selection in a social media post on Monday.

“I’m very proud and excited to announce that I have officially been named to the 2022 US Olympic team. This is a dream come true to say the least,” Owens wrote.

“I can’t help but feel extremely grateful for everyone that has helped me reach this point.”
