The winners of the “Hong Kong Quest” in October will then be included in a six-team qualification draw for the returning FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters in Hong Kong, which will accommodate up to 1,000 spectators, a 25 per cent increase from last year.

The Post revealed in March the city will host the last of 17 legs this season, ahead of the World Tour Final in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in December.

“While the open registration is going to be fair, we’re aiming to recruit the best teams in Hong Kong,” Kenny Wong, CEO of organisers M1 Group, said.

“Be it grassroots players or those from the local A1 Division, we hope to unearth the most suitable team to represent us at this competition.”

Organisers said the Hong Kong Quest will be completed within one week, depending on the total number of teams taking part, and that it could be staged at some of the city’s iconic landmarks.
