Needing to beat Formosa Taishin Dreamers at the Fengshan Arena on Sunday, Steelers fell to a 92-89 loss in a game in which visiting forward Chris McCullough appeared to elbow Lin in the face.

The contact knocked Lin to the floor, leaving the 34-year-old having to be helped from the court after banging his head hard on the court.

Lin was taken to hospital, and although returned to watch his side’s season come to an end was unable to take any further part after being diagnosed with “symptoms of concussion”.

Afterwards, the former Toronto Raptor, said he could not guarantee that he would continue playing next year.
