Taiwanese-American Jeremy Lin and the Santa Cruz Warriors now find themselves one win away from the NBA’s G League championship final.

Lin dropped 12 points and a team-high eight assists against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Monday in the quarter-finals of the 2020-21 play-offs, helping his squad to a 110-81 victory. Santa Cruz will now play the Lakeland Magic on Tuesday night in Orlando, Florida.

In an Instagram post celebrating International Women’s Day and giving a shout out to his mother, Lin made a quick comment on the team’s performance, writing: “And in other news, solid first round win this afternoon for the squad. Round 2 tmrw night #SeaDubs.”

The G League has organised an eight-team single elimination play-off format this season due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and players are currently inside a secure bubble in Florida.

The Warriors were led by forward Axel Toupane, who scored 18 of his team-high 24 points in the first half, helping Santa Cruz to a 57-39 lead at the break.
