The arrival of NBA champion Jeremy Lin at the Beijing Shougang Ducks is sure to turn more eyes on to the Chinese Basketball Association season, which tipped off on November 1 with reigning champions Guangdong Southern Tigers taking on 2018 champions Liaoning Flying Leonards.
That started when Lin’s new side travel to neighbouring Tianjin on Sunday, November 3.
Linsanity Part Two began against the Tianjin Pioneers at their Tianjin Arena home before heading to his own new stomping ground, the Wukesong Arena.
There’s more to the league than Lin, of course, with several other former NBA stars signing on for Chinese teams this season.




Former All-American Lance Stephenson has swapped the Los Angeles Lakers for the Liaoning Flying Leopards, while NBA G League rookie of the year Angel Delgado has signed for Stephon Marbury’s Beijing Royal Fighters.
So, enough with the build-up, how do you watch it?


Well, you’re going to need the internet’s help, presuming you are (a) outside of China and (b) unable to read simplified Chinese characters.
Both are easy enough fixes thanks to technology. For example, the Chrome browser has a built-in translation tool to make the reading a non-issue.
If you are outside China, you are going to need a VPN to make the internet think you are inside if you are to enjoy the action.

That will allow you to access the CCTV-5 broadcasts of games, as well as a host of streaming sites.
Youku.com is the league’s official streaming partner of the CBA and will show every single game live online. These can also be streamed through the Youku app on Android and iOS.
Another video streaming site, Bili Bili, the sponsors of Yao Ming’s former team the Shanghai Sharks, shows some games as part of their deal.

The Zhibo8.cc website will tell you what games are scheduled on any given day and may or may not have links to ways you can watch them.
Another option if you’re in the UK – or the internet thinks you are – is a Bet365 account with funds, that you do not need to spend, which should allow you to see the games.
A Tencent app is also available to those with Android phones, while Beijing-based short-video platform Kuaishou has become the official partner of the 2019–20 Chinese Basketball Association season.
