EU trade commissioner says bloc seeks to deepen cooperation with China

The EU is ready to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations with China by “deepening trade and investment cooperation”, its trade commissioner said in Beijing on Thursday, according to a Chinese readout.

Maros Sefcovic made the remarks during a meeting with Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng, an account by Xinhua News Agency said. The meeting took place on the first of a two-day visit, with the officials dining at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
